TECHNICIAN/GRAND PIANO REBUILDER

Overs Pianos is seeking a suitably skilled person to join the team as a grand piano manufacturing/rebuilding technician. The position will involve grand piano manufacture and rebuilding in our Sydney workshop, with particular emphasis on hammer fitting, action overhaul/replacement, bridge manufacture & sound board replacement, pin block replacement & stringing skills. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to deliver high standards of work, to be capable of filling in job spreadsheets on computer and have their own hand tools and power tools kit (eg. electric screwdriver, jig saw, drill, angle grinder).

In 2004 Overs Pianos built two Overs 225 pianos for the Conservatorium High School and Sydney Conservatorium of Music respectively, and remanufactured a Steinway D with an Overs I-rib sound board and many other design modifications. While the development of our grand piano manufacturing capacity continues to be a work in progress, we remain committed to maintaining our established position as Australia's leading grand piano rebuilder. Much grand piano re-manufacturing work at Overs Pianos is similar in scope to the manufacture of new instruments. The successful applicant will be invited to come to Sydney at their own expense, to partake in a four week trial employment period with the option of a further four weeks trial employment at the discretion of Overs Pianos Pty Ltd.
